You're Never on Your Own After Surgery
Week 1
Daily WhatsApp or phone check-in. Any pain, swelling, or concerns addressed. Medication adjustments if needed.
Week 2–4
Full remote video consultation, no charge. Doctor examines your incision or implant and clears you for normal activity.
Months 2–3
Phone call to confirm everything is healing well. Any persistent issues get escalated.
Months 6 & 12
Annual video or phone check-up. Early warning system for long-term complications.
✓ Not an Automated Phone Line. Your Doctor.
Unlike U.S. practices where you talk to a nurse first: WhatsApp gives you a direct line to your doctor's team, with a response time within 4 hours (usually same-day). Real emergencies are escalated to a phone call, not email. Doctor availability is 7am–6pm Sonora time, Monday to Friday.
If Something Goes Wrong (It's Rare, But We're Ready)
Minor Issue
Swelling, mild pain, bruising. Resolved via WhatsApp with the doctor. No charge.
Moderate Issue
Infection sign, unexpected bleeding. Video consultation, possible antibiotics, follow-up in 48 hours. No charge.
Serious Issue
Emergency return to Nogales coordinated by MySonoraCare. Covered by your procedure cost — no surprise bills.
Rare Severe Emergency
Transfer to a U.S. hospital if needed. We coordinate; U.S. hospital bills are handled by your insurance.
Prescriptions, Refills, and Long-Term Medications
You get a 30-day supply of antibiotics and pain medication included, plus a prescription copy to fill locally if needed. After 30 days, your U.S. doctor can write a refill if needed — we'll brief them. Pain management shifts to over-the-counter options after week 2, as directed. Bariatric patients also receive a vitamin B12, calcium, and vitamin D protocol plus protein powder recommendations as part of the post-op packet.
Yes, Your U.S. Doctor Can Be Involved
If you want your local doctor in Arizona to know what was done, we provide a detailed surgical report in English. Your doctor can contact us with questions or prescribe follow-up care like physical therapy. No territorial issues — we work together.
We're Here for Years, Not Just the Procedure
Bariatric Patients
Vitamin monitoring plan with annual blood work recommendations, ongoing access to a nutritionist, a revision surgery protocol if needed in future, and lifetime follow-up.
Dental Patients
10-year implant longevity guarantee, a maintenance plan coordinated with your local hygienist, and a replacement or repair protocol if something fails.
What's NOT Included
These are not part of post-op care: unrelated medical issues (see your U.S. doctor), cosmetic touch-ups beyond the procedure scope, ongoing physical therapy (we provide guidance, your U.S. PT executes), and psychiatric support for post-surgery anxiety (we refer you to a U.S. therapist). We're your surgical team, not your primary care doctor. But we coordinate well.
Common Questions
What if I move back to Mexico after surgery?
Still covered. Remote follow-up works the same. If you're in Sonora, even better — you can do in-person checks.
Can my U.S. insurance help pay for follow-up care?
Unlikely, since the procedure was abroad. But we include most follow-up in your initial cost, so no surprise bills.
What's the worst-case scenario for long-term?
Implant failure (rare). We have replacement and repair protocols. Very few patients ever need this.
How long do I stay in touch with the doctor?
Actively for 1 year post-op. Then annual check-ins for life if you want them. We never drop patients.
